Professionals and Merit Pay

Teachers are not suddenly going to improve because they earn a higher salary. Professionals do not work that way, and if they do, well that's not professional. If money is available for bonuses, why not use it to improve facilities, research, training, and development. Share the wealth to raise student achievement.
